Kingdom Symphony

Mat 18:19-20 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. (20) For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

When believers come together in Kingdom Symphony, a melodious harmony comes forth that catches the attention of our Heavenly Father. In the original greek, the word for agreement is sumphoneo, which in English is translated symphony. When we come together in the name of Jesus, not in our name, He is present among us as our Heavenly conductor, guiding us fluidly in tune with His Father’s heart. The Father’s heart is that we humble ourselves, follow our conductor’s leading, and operate in forgiving love. In this environment a spirit of Kingdom Symphony fills the atmosphere because each one is not tooting his own horn. Kingdom Symphony is about asking Jesus to empower us to play His Father’s tune, not ours, meticulously weaving each of our unique sounds into ONE harmonious concert of lifelong praise.

The disciples were consumed with desiring greatness. These lowly men were familiar with a world where power and control constituted greatness. Jesus revealed that His Kingdom is far greater than all the kingdoms of this world. The path to greatness in His Kingdom requires humility. For one to become great in His Kingdom, one must become a servant. The proud are denied access to His Kingdom, but those that become as children are granted Kingdom favor. When men pursue their own self-centered agendas, Kingdom Symphony becomes secondary, and man’s will dethrones the Father’s will.

Coming together under the name of Jesus demands the submission of every other name to His name. When believers gather, the central personality should always be Jesus, not a crowd pleasing, charismatic leader. At the name of Jesus, every knee shall bow. “Bishop Everybody-Notice Me” kneels at the same cross as Johnny the burger boy. When King Conductor Jesus summons His orchestra, there will be Kingdom Symphony and all will know who’s really in charge.

Sticking and working together requires forgiving love. You cannot walk closely with another without seeing their clay feet. Being fitly framed together demands authentic interaction. We all play bad notes from time to time. Others will say and/or do things that hurt, aggravate, infuriate, and disappoint you. Guaranteed! Kingdom agreement to carry out the work of the King will require that we cover the shortcomings of our fellow servants. Forgiving love bears all things, and covers a multitude of sins.

Kingdom Symphony is not about producing something that man can take pride in. Rather, Kingdom Symphony is about ego-less servants working together, humbly following King conductor Jesus, and walking in forgiving love. By this, the world will hear a sound unlike any other in this world.

Majesty, worship his majesty;Unto Jesus be all glory, honor, and praise.Majesty, kingdom authority,Flow from his throne unto his own, his anthem raise. So exalt, lift up on high the name of Jesus.Magnify, come glorify Christ Jesus, the King.Majesty, worship his majesty,Jesus who died, now glorified, King of all kings.
(Majesty - Words & Music by Jack Hayford)
